Default G'day from oz, after some bat advice

G'day guys,

New to the forum but thought I'd search out some advice from fellow players (despite reading numerous reviews and watching videos).

I've been playing (both fastpitch and slow) for 20 odd years now and I've never seriously looked into bats other than how the feel in the hand. But given all the technology around now and the fact that my club can't provide us with anything other than helmets and catchers gear, I find myself in need of a bat or two.

I'm a fairly big guy (6'3, 250) and am currently swinging with a friends heavily weighted green reebok and an end loaded worth bat of some description.

I've got a few bats in mind but I don't want to pick one and not have it last in the conditions over here (can get as low as 10 degrees celcius and as high as 40).

I'm finding I am hitting a lot more fouls with the balanced bat than I am the endloaded worth.

So far the bats I am looking at are the Easton L6.0, The Worth 454 Resmondo and (it is a two piece which I am trying to steer clear of after breaking a friends stealth in half with a hard swing) the Demarini Fu dawg.

If you've got any advice or other recommendations I'd appreciate it

Cheers from oz and merry christmas

Trent

IMO I would stay with your present thinking and go by how the bat feels. That is what I tell people when they ask me what bat to get. For example Easton has some good bats but I can't swing them effectively because of the thin handle. I feel very comfortable with my PST's but very vew people can swing them.

So you need a bat for both slow and fast pitch?

Not playing fast pitch anymore just slow pitch stuff.

Ill probably lean away from the easton if its got a thin handle. I dont mind a stiffer feel in the bat either so the demarini may be best

Swagger with all the new stamps sounds like the bat for you. End loaded, stiff, and durable in the cold. Have to be careful with the new stamp rules and different associations you play.

If your worried about breaking bats I'd stay away from Easton they aren't made like the used to be...if you like the endload feel and don't want a two piece I'd think about the new Jeff hall series they all have a .5 endload and the 454 aren't all two piece bats and it seems your hitting with worth already stick with what works keep hitting bombs...

My problem now is stamp....I know bats are only checked at state level not local but neither of the two ive looked further into (fu dawg and the jeff hall worth mentioned just before) are tested above asa standard :/

Wound up going for the fu dawg which I should hopefully get in a few days. First bat I have ever spent a reasonable amount of money on so fingers crossed it goes ok.
