Default Favorite Bat ASA & USSSA/NSA

We might have killed the best asa bat thing before it started but new members will want to see something when they come snooping sooo....

What is your single favorite bat per association?
  • Must still be legal.
  • Doesn't have to be the hottest, just your favorite, the one you reach for when you have to make it happen.
  • Please note if you are using in a metal or singlewall only league.
  • Brief reason it's your favorite.

Freak98: It can take the ball anywhere I tell it to with authority and helps mask my bad ab's.

Freak+: Very forgiving sweetspot with good distance and swung like my F98. I mostly play ASA, FYI.

ASA - Freak 98 - It is extremely durable and has tons of pop. What more could you ask for? Just give it a LOT of swings to get god and broken in. I also highly recommend the NRG500 which is very similar but has an even bigger sweetspot, IMO.

USSSA - MV1- It is extremely hot and has a huge sweetspot. It hits well right out of the wrapper and just keeps getting hotter. Another bat that gets crazy hot is the OG Easton SCX2. Once broken in, they are crazy hot. Sadly, this will be changing with the new stamps.

Asa- Maxload Recoil 26oz once its well broken it its so soft you can place the ball anywhere or smash the ball out. Its got a big sweet spot in case your not hitting the ball on the good part of the bat there is alot of good part to hit. Ive gone to the NRG 500 though since ive been playing recently its a little heavier and has a massive sweet spot.

Usssa- 2012 balanced Z1000. Quick to break in and gets hot. Its balanced and light for when you get tired after a long tournament. Its got pop if you want a bomb or you can slow it down and put one just out of the infield.
If i need a homerun i pull out my JH120 The red worth mayhem. If im hitting the ball well ill use this bat and smash..

ASA-OG Flex (ML Recoil close behind). Takes awhile to get it seasoned, but once it does, watch out. Maybe it is all the swinging to get it broken in, but it just fits my swing perfect.

USSSA- OG CNT+ (09 Ressy/09 JH Titan distant second but still great). Like the Flex, only better. Lights out.

ASA - hands down the OG Ext.

USSSA - my OG Syn+, but my Syn2 is a very close second.

Default Best ASA bat

Guys, I used the Miken Super Freak98 Midload and it was not for me since I'm used to a balance bat. So I went with the new Miken Freak FX 700 Balance and I'm here to tell you it kicks a--! I bought it at VMInnoviations for $189.00 with a 2 yr warranty to boot. This bat will definitely become my favorite.

Good to hear about the fx700 being up to par, Miken has struggled with asa for awhile. Have you swung many of the other top asa bats like the f98, mayhem98, flex/ext, reap, etc? Just curious how it stacks up.
