Default alloy bat question

I am looking to get a bat for my (no composite) league. What would you recommend? It doesn't matter if it's single or multi-wall.
Does the White steel (single wall) compare to any doublewalls?
I'm not sure what the ratings on the balls are, they seem to get soft fast. It's an over 40 league.
HELP!!!
Thanks in advance.

If you can find one a PST would be the best.

Thanks for the feedback.
I forgot to mention this is an ASA league and I am using the (white) white steel which has performed beutifully.
I am looking to get a new bat.
Are there any new doublewall bats that are good or should I get another white steel?
Thanks
