Wood Bat Slow-Pitch Softball
Preliminary and proposed plans and rules:
As of now the committee for Wood Bat Slow-Pitch Softball has reached in an argreement to team up with USSSA in Vermont for the 2013 season for Wood Bat Tourneys and leagues.
Teams will have to be registered USSSA for tourneys.
Still pending are reduced registration fees for new leagues that want to be a part Wood Bat Slow-Pitch Softball for 2013.
As of now USSSA in Vermont is not awarding points for Wood Bat tournaments.
USSSA rules will apply unless stated.
Wood or Bamboo Bats only
• Bat Barrels’ cannot exceed 2.25 inches and cannot be more the 34” in length.
• Pitching Arc is 3’ – 12’.
• Balls for Wood Bats for tourneys will be .44/375 compression Optical ball.
• Teams must have at least 9 players to start game and to finish.
• Full Ball and strike count will be used.
• No base stealing.
• Player must be 18 or older to play.
• Courtesy runners allowed. Ruling: Last out last inning, one per inning.
• Bases paths can be 65’ or 70’ with dual base at 1B.
The Wood Bat Slow-Pitch Softball committee has proposed to do a full reimbursement of entry fee and travel money to the winners. Travel money will be based on number of teams in tournament. Entry fee will be more for the Upper than the Lower thus playing in the Upper you will receive more for winning. All reimbursements will be based on the number of teams in tourney after all expenses are covered. Example: Umps, balls, insurance or any use of field cost.
Example:
Entry fees to tourneys will be based on what Division your team is playing.
Upper: $250 Lower: $225
Teams not registered with USSSA will have to pay registration fees to play in Wood Bat Slow-Pitch tournaments.



2 Divisions
Upper Division, Lower Division
Upper Division will be for teams that are classified D and E teams in USSSA and ASA C and D teams.
The Lower Division will consist of teams ASA E or lower and teams true Recreational teams to compete.
Wood Bats bring a comparative for teams in each of these Divisions for competitive games.
Home Run Rule: There is no Home Run Rule.
Roster and wavier form will be used for all Tournaments. Each player must sign and print name. Proof of ID will be required to play and maybe required at any time during tourney play.
As of now there are 3 purposed Qualifying Tournaments to be held in Vermont for 2013
Rutland County, Vt. In May, Date TBA
Ryegate, Vt. In June, Date TBA
Burlington, Vt. In July, Date TBA
(Please not the Tournament in Burlington is a benefit tournament.)
A Wood Bat Slow-Pitch Softball State Tournament is being purposed to be held in August at one of these locations.
The committee for Wood Bat Slow-Pitch Softball will be meeting again after the Holidays (January) to confirm rules and dates for Adult Wood Bat Slow-Pitch Softball.
