Default LABOR DAY SOFTBALL CLASSIC

Labor Day Softball Classic!

Looking for a final tune-up for the USSSA Worlds? Need some additional cash? Just looking to play softball all weekend? Metro Long Island USSSA presents the 1st annual "Labor Day Softball Classic"

The tournament, held on the weekend of September 4-5, will feature a 5-game guarantee (pool play into double elimination) and will offer a cash prize to each bracket winner.

Here is how it works:

All teams will play in an open pool play (3 games). After pool play, the teams will move on to the double elimination bracket by their classification. The seeding in the bracket will be determined by pool play. The winner of each bracket will earn a cash prize ($75 per team). ***Each bracket champion will have an opportunity to challenge the champion from the higher class in a one-game playoff with the cash prize on the line (teams from the lower class will only risk their prize money while the upper class teams risk the entire cash prize)****

***This tournament will be open to all teams from all classes.****

Sounds like an awesome format!!!

Some questions though. How many brackets and how many teams in each? say based on 20 teams. I would expect more teams in the upper brakcets to offer a bigger prize

Then, other than shame, what is stopping teams from dropping to the lowest bracket and beating up on teams for sure money?

Based on my conversation with Vinny this is correct. However, he made it sound like C & D would be separate.
