52 or 44?

This is a discussion on 52 or 44? within the ASA forums, part of the Softball Associations category!
My local league finally switched to 52's. I wonder how many have switched and how many still use 44's?...

Our hasn't but I'm sure when people start bitching about their new stamp bats getting beat up they'll switch.mi think they're just trying to use up the rest of the softballs

We can still use either ball, same as last year. Looking at the 2013 ASA rule book, it looks like this is the last year for the 44s. Only 52s will be allowed in championship play in 2014.

Our leagues will still use 44/375's this year, tourney I just played in used 52's, didn't even realize it until someone told me.

Sent from greatness.

We switched to the 52 last year. Bat list was expanded to include everything but a few senior bats. Same this year. Missouri ASA did the same thing.

Went out to buy $100 worth of Evil 44/375s today. Turns out they were 20% off, making them $4.80 each! Since I could get more than expected for the $100, I got some 52/300s too, just in case. Judging from the store's stock, looks like this area is split but leaning toward the 44/375s.

My main league switched to the Tattoo 52/300's this year and those balls fly. My travel league has stayed with the Evil ISA Micro-cells 44/375's

One of the leagues I play in just started mixing in 52cor balls, not sure what the thought was there. 52cor to start then whatever 44 they have afterwards. Last night's game started with 44's again.....
