Default Too heavy...

What are the biggest tell tale signs a bat is too heavy for a guy? Merely his height or weight? For example I'm 6'00" and 220 lbs. So does that equal 28 oz or is that too general of an assumption? I'm sure other factors affect this.

I am 5'10 186 lbs and always have swung a 30 oz end load. Tell tale sign for me this year is when I started to feel the bat dragging through the hitting zone so dropped to a 28.5 oz. Tried a 27 oz but was too light.

It is really too general. There is a lot more to it than height and weight. We have all seen great big weaklings and smaller guys with tree trunks for arms. Also, at some point, it simply comes down to personal preference and what works for you. That said, it is my opinion that for a guy your size, a 28 is probably a good place to start.

Not all bats of the same weight feel the same when swinging; especially comparing balanced to end loaded.

I'm of the swing the heaviest stick you can control through the zone mindset; others prefer sheer batspeed.

Agree. My 30 oz bat's always outdistanced my 27 and 28's when I tried to drop down in weight so I always went back to my 30's till this year.
