Default Does the 2013 standard apply

I play in an all metal usssa league here on LI. Im a little confused about the new standard. Ive read it and it seems to pertain to composite bats. Does anyone know for sure if that is the case or does it apply to metal bats too?

All bats must have the new stamp regardless of construction. Even the old Hammers and Cyclones are being banned. However, your LD can make whatever rules he wants and allow whatever bats he chooses. The only way to find out if he is doing that is to ask him.

That sux. My PST MAX was just unwrapped last year. I looked on the local league site and there is nothing there yet. Thanks for the info. Looks like I need to look into the slim pickings of metal bats.

If it were me, I would call and actually talk to him to see what he is planning before spending any money. IF I were the LD of an all metal league, I would continue to allow the old bats. I bet there is a decent chance he will do that.

Im hoping that he does. Considering that its the only league I play in Im at the leagues mercy, you know. At least in a composite league I know what is going on.

Just chiming in with nothing to add. An all metal bat league requiring new stamp just sounds dumb. Probably we will hear of some league doing it somewhere, but it will still be dumb.
