Default Batting cage vs aluminum bats

Is there any truth that the cage balls will destroy an aluminum bat? I understand that composite bats are a no no, but I've hit plenty with aluminum and never noticed that it was bad on the bat. Oh and I'm talking slow pitch cages.

I have always used my gamers at the cage. I've never had any issue with composites or aluminum. But hey that's me...

That may have been truer years ago when cage balls seemed harder and heavier than regular balls, or when they used old waterlogged regular balls at the cage. I doubt it makes much difference with the balls made for batting cages today.

I use an Easton Edge in outdoor cages with dimple balls.

But in all seriousness, it voids the warranty of your bat, so if you care about the bat, only hit real softballs with it.
