Default when someone on field is injured...

by a batted ball, are they taking the bat? looking at the bat at all?

i've heard that in some tournies they have taken the bat and at least inspected it...is this a rule? a tourney rule? are they going to start doing this in leagues?

i know that someone on this board just got injured by a batted ball and was wondering if they do or are planning on anything like this...not in this specific instance, but in general?

not a bad idea, to at least inspect. If in question, I think it should be taken to the next step.

i believe it was kush who said that he hit a guy a few weeks ago at the sportsplex and they took the bat from the field to further inspect it...and later gave it back to him...

I think it's a great idea, but how hurt does the person have to be? Ross took one of his shin and our 3B took one off his knee at midnight madness from an obvious dirty bat. Couldnt rely on the umpire though, we were pretty sure he was drinking.

I think its depending on how the player is hurt. if a bad hop gets someone they don't take it but i believe anytime a p gets hit they take it if a injury is involved. I am not sure if its a rule though.
