I swing a 26 because I feel like I can control it a lot better when swinging. It's all I've swung the last four years. Just got so used to it. I know I can maneuver it and hit backside if I need or get out in front and pull it for a HR too.

well you might not like the reason for this thread. i'm thinking of dropping to at the most a 27.5 or a heavily end loaded 26oz. I used a 26oz SCX2 RI over the weekend and it felt GREAT. i felt like i could put the ball anywhere. generally that's not my swing but I wonder how much power/distance i would lose. or gain?

take a look at my BP vid for me and let me know what you think. that's a 28.5oz and i can whip it pretty good so i always felt like i was comfortable there.

The lightest I'll go is 28.5 otherwise I am too far out in front of the ball and tend to top it or cue ball it for some reason. Also that is the weight I've used since HS but then it was a 33 1/2oz. My handspeed is still rather quick so the way to offset it a bit is using the telephone poles. Which I love using......because nobody else uses them so I can buy any bat and nobody will even think about using it. What people don't know, bats like OG Ext's feel a helluva lot lighter than 30ozers, well to me anyway.

But in the end, it's whatever makes you feel more comfortable at the plate, both physically and (more importantly) mentally.

Started with 30's (well, 34 if we want to go way back). Been a 28-28.5'er for many a year but have been experimenting with 27 and 27EL's. Swung my newish 27 Ressy 09 last night. Hit one to the fence and 2 I came around too quick and hit it more off the end section. Still a work in progess but I do tend to have a little more control with the lighter bats in some regard, but in some sense a little wilder due to lighter weight if that makes any sense.

Most of that makes sense. But coming from you it all makes perfect sense.

Those that know me, know me. Those that don't will be easily confused.
