Default Question on how teams approach sponsor money:

I was wondering how teams get there sponsor money? We have been doing better year after year but cannot land a huge sponsor yet. Next year will be our 3rd year playing travel ball (played together in locals for about two years before traveling) and hope to land on more money. Is it someone on the team who has a connection or letters that are sent out to big corporations?

Our season is officially over and our goal for next year is to try and get more money. We ran into some teams in Florida with $10,000 sponsors or more.

This year we got a total of $2,000 in sponsor money, we each put up $200 a head, ran a tournament (doing again next May), and won a few money tournaments which helped out.

Any thoughts?

I go and talk to friends I know who own bussinessess or hold a raffle for sponsorship of that tourney... I also run some golf tourney's hold'em tourney's anything that will bring in the $$$$$$

You could send letters to big corporations that make donations in return for advertising their business. I know you could send Subway a letter, we do a lot of sponsorships.

Just send a letter to our Public Relations Department:

Thanks for all the help guys! It's my goal to take care the sponsorships before the new year.

Dirty: Don't know about a Poker tourny but when you win our tournament again in May- you can donate it back. haha
