Default Old Vernon Complex ?

What ever happened to the complex in Vernon, CT right of exit 67 on I-84. At one time, I heard the lights were being sold to Rte. 20 in Palmer, but obviously that never happened.

Did the owner of the Vernon complex sell it and the new owner didn't do shit with it or what?

Is it for sale now?

Who knows what's up with that property....

Hater, what I heard was the property was in fact sold. It was suposed to be a Home Depot or something like that. But, the town has been fighting it since the sale due to wet lands in the area as well as some other local concerns from neighbors.

Just drove by it last week - Its a sad site . . . .

Fences were sold off and the infields have full size tress rooted and growing in them - The outfields are still recognizeable but overgrown (not as bad as the infield) as well.

Dugouts in place and the hut/shed that sold beer and food is still there.

Waste

If I had the resources, I would make an offer to rent or buy. But I heard that people have already made offers and the owner turned them down. I heard he is claiming a loss on his taxes until he sells to Home Depot. He is clearly a rich, greedy POS who cares nothing about anyone but himself. Just like everyone else!

I thought it was sold, but that they couldn't build. If thats the case we should contact them and tell them to put the fields back, call it the Home Depot Fields, and write it all off.....

My point is that Home Depot might not be able to do anything with it, nor any other commercial development if there are serious wetlands involved. But why not get a grant from the town to get the fields back? We need someone like David K to research this for us... If they can't build why not show the community how serious they are about being 'good neighbors' so to speak.....

I have some resources here at work that I can try to find the named owner. Give me a day or two and we'll get some contacts.
