Part of that is because BB Heaven, when it first opened, signed an agreement with the East Coast Umpire association to do all games at the complex.

They were not going to allow USSSA umpires to do games there, and USSSA was not going to allow baseball umpires to do sanctioned games, so ISA got their foot in the door cause they had no trained umpires locally and were new on the Island, so they accepted anyone to do their games.

That has since evolved and now ISA has been there so long, they have managed a partnership with the ECUA and ISA.

The complex in NJ alredy has several USSSA youth baseball events planned, so I suspect, if/when it does add slowpitch softball events, they will definitely work with USSSA. personally, I think it's a mistake for any complex to shut any association out, there is too much need for consumers to be so close-minded like BB heaven has been.
