In high school PE we actually had softball. Some guys I was kinda friends with saw I had some skills I guess. Became better friends with them and after HS when a couple of them started a team they called me. That 1 team morphed into many others...some nights you were a teammate, some nights an opponent. It was then that I learned the incestuousness of softball.

It's all my Father's fault. He'd been playing Modified Fastpitch since I was a toddler. I remember him playing on this one blacktop field in Forest Hills, Queens. Then we moved out to Lawn Guyland and he started a league. At one point I think he had something like 150-200 teams or something like that. Then when I was old enough I just started playing. I think I was 19 or 20 or something and it was during summers when I was home from College. I played Modified for about 15 years. Then made the switch to Slowpitch about 5 years ago.

I was a decent ball player as a kid and was invited out to play with some friends. Took over coaching soon after and 20 years later........here I am.

I watched my dad play when i was young. He was like the Babe Ruth of softball. Never did he run past first. Heck of a Pitcher. My mom played right field but mostly just sat out there with a beer.

My buddies at work asked if I wanted to play so I did. Then it has snowballed from there.
