Default Help. Hitting too many foul balls.

As title says, I'm in a 40+ slow-pitch league. I'm a right-handed batter & hitting w-a-a-a-y too many fouls. Any simple suggestions for a simple, sure-fire
quick fix to hit the ball fair? Thanks!

Are you pulling the ball foul to left, or slicing foul to right?

If you are pulling everything, you are likely casting and also need to let the ball travel deeper to the plate.

If you are slicing, swing earlier.

I'm pulling everything I guess - fouling off behind 3rd base. What can I do to correct this - and put the ball in play?

.....or start your swing later, and keep your hands inside the ball. The majority of the time people are yanking the ball foul, they're casting the bat around the ball, making contact well before the ball hits the plate, and after your arms are fully extended.

Posting a video of the OPs swing would help.

I agree with the advice above but would add two others. 1. *Watch* the pitcher when you are not batting. (You may already be doing this, but I am amazed how often players do NOT do this). Most pitchers have a limited number of pitches and if you watch them before you get up there, you will have a better idea of the timing. 2. Do not try to hit a home run every time at bat. (Again, I have no idea whether you yourself are trying to do this, but too many players are). Unless you are facing an amazingly talented slow pitch pitcher, you should be able to "punch" the ball into the outfield between the fielders most of the time. In my experience as a pitcher, if people try to hit a home run, they most often pop-up, pull it foul, or hit a long, long fly out. Of course, I have faced that occasional powerhouse who can hit a lot of home runs. And by occasional, I mean maybe three people in ten years of pitching.
