I was thinking the mighty Hauser would be the perfect fit with his NEB tournament championship ring under his belt.

Or this would be a great way for YOU to break into the league and team...

Thumbs down Rules only exist to waste paper

I received an email from the league tonight. Apparently contrary to the 40 Plus Rule Book, a league president was elected by the board. The league has always allowed the rank and file (players) to elect board members. First off, if this were the way things were done, the board could just keep on electing itself without opposition. From the rule book...

3. The League President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary are elected annually. There is no limit on the number of terms, consecutive or otherwise, an individual can occupy a League officer position.
Here is the email...

Folks,

On Tuesday February 22, 2011
the Danbury Over 40 Soft Ball League Executive Board met and elected Chris (Chico) Pacheco as the league President
. Please join me in welcoming Chris. Chris brings with him many years of experience as a certified ASA umpire and knowledge of the game. Chris has played in our league for many years.

I would like to take this moment to thank all of you for your support that you have given me as the past league President. I look forward to seeing you on the field.

Nino Desposati
This is clearly not in accordance with the rules. If there are any board members on the site, ahem javaman, my position is Pacheco is not duly elected.

Same old shit different year...
