Default ASA Catalyst

Here's what I wrote on SBF:

The very first swing I ever took with this bat, new out of the wrapper, I hit a HR 315' to CF. This bat is very similar to the Freak98 as in you need a lot of BP to get it broken in. Mine I'd say right now is like 60% broken in with probly 500 hits. This bat is pretty good right now and will be INSANE once I break it in fully. I have a Synergy-2 so I don't use the Catalyst like I should. In any event, it's a tank and you would do well to buy one if you like the feel of an end loaded bat.

Update:

I have a 30oz model and it definately swings heavy due to the endload. I've got at least 800 swing on it (probly over 1000) and it's finally feeling like it's opened up. Bat definately has a stiff feel to it too. It doesn't flex much in the handle like Eastons and such. This will be my gamer next year as of 1/1/08.

I had a 28oz which was my gamer. Loved that bat. I got what I thought was a pretty good offer for it and let it go.

I had one. It felt very stiff but was hot. I thought it swung too balanced and sold it for a good deal and never regretted it.

have 1 --27 oz with 150 hits or so, 1--27oz NIW , 1---28 oz 70-80 hits...boy do they swing stiff, the bat we had with over 1000 swings was insane, hoping this will match the other one.

Be careful with the sweetspot placement. These bats are very stiff and hit well after breaking in, but the sweetspot is near the middle of the barrell. If you like them futher out towards the endcap then this bat is not for you!
