Default 2014 Combat Derby Boys 427SP1 brief review

2014 Derby SP427SP1, 28oz, 44/375-400 balls, 50-75 hits on it.

It has a super nice feeling barrel & huge sweet spot for a 12Ē. It just doesnít have that bomb factor like some of my other bats at least not yet anyway. That being said Iíve hit some nasty get-out-d-way line drives with a lot of control & itís starting to win over several people who havenít swung a combat before. Hoping around 100-200 hits it will come around as a rocket launcher like I remember my 2013 being. Although it hit well, hot out the wrapper may be a tad exaggerated IMO.

Update: 75 hits in with 44/400s & she’s coming along good now. Hot out the wrapper is definitely all hype though…you can defend yourself if it’s all you have to swing is a better analogy. Soft barrel, great feel, big sweet spot, the bat doesn’t do the work for you like I find with my other end loads however the control/exit speed is pretty wicked at only 75 hits. Other teams seem jumpy when they see the yellow so me likey.

Hype? Best bat(s) ive hit right out of the wrapper. That and the wanted. The wanted does not feel like a two piece at all. U hit them on the sweet spot and look out!!
